Syr Ginger, the beloved gingerbread woman hailing from the plane of Eldraine, has accrued many names to go with her powerful story. Mother of Cookies, Sole Survivor of the Boiling Cauldron, the Last of her Batch, and the Meal Ender; she strikes fear into the hearts of those who once thought to consume her. Atop her trusty gingerbread horse Cinnamon, she gallantly rides into battle against all who would bring doom upon the food-creatures of Eldraine.
Story
Syr Ginger was given life when she was baked by Brenard, a baker in the kitchens of Castle Ardenvale. When she awoke upon the baking sheet, she was connected hand-in-hand with her lover: the gingerbread man.
Before they could get themselves acquainted with the world around them, they were rudely interrupted by the planeswalker Garruk, who stormed into the kitchen, taking out several Ardenvale guards in the process. Syr Ginger and the gingerbread man attempted to escape the mayhem, heading for an open window.
However, before they could get to the window, they were blocked by a giant steaming cauldron filled with hot soup. In the combat ensuing around them, a jug of milk was shattered, sending a wave of milk headed straight for the delicious couple. All they could do was hold each other and wait for the milk to crash over them.
Once the milk wave had subsided, we found that Syr Ginger had found a handhold, stopping them from tumbling into the boiling cauldron. She was able to swing the gingerbread man onto the table above them, but before she could be pulled to safety, Garruk’s axe severed their connection, sending Syr Ginger to her apparent doom in the boiling cauldron.
However, it was not Syr Ginger’s doom, and with her immense willpower, she pulled herself out of the scalding liquid. Alas, she was not quick enough, and she could do nothing but watch as the planeswalker Garruk ate her beloved gingerbread man.
Syr Ginger’s fury became unbound at this horrific sight, and her rage caused her to grab a fork and do battle with the ferocious planeswalker. None alive were able to witness this epic battle, but it is apparent that the duel ended in a draw. Syr Ginger has since taken up a vow of revenge against all planeswalkers and, to this day, fights for the good of all food-creatures of Eldraine.
