Rona is an artificer hailing from Dominaria that was trained at the Tolarian Academy, but secretly led the Society of Mishra. The society was a secret group within the academy that worshipped Mishra and the Phyrexian Demon Gix. Prior to being compleated Rona would start the task herself, replacing parts of her body with machines, most notably replacing her eye with a laser cannon.
In her pursuit of Phyrexian relics she targeted the ancient Caves of Koilos, the location of a portal to Phyrexia during the Phyrexians second invasion of Dominaria. In her excavations she discovered the damaged but still alive Phyrexian Praetor Sheoldred. Putting her skills to work she rebuilt Sheoldred, allowing the Phyrexian blight to spread across Dominaria in the form of sleeper agents. For her work Rona would become Sheoldred’s second in command.
Karn would inevitably discover Rona and Sheoldred, but Rona was able to defeat him and transport Sheoldred to another secret location on Dominaria. She would lead the fight in Yavimaya by piloting an ancient dragon engine and was present at the titanic battle at the Mana Rig, where the planeswalker Jaya was killed and Karn was taken prisoner.
Rona would also take part in the Phyrexian attack on Urza’s Tower, as they attempted to stop the planeswalkers Teferi and Kaya from using the Temporal Anchor to discover the ancient secrets of the Sylex. During the attack Rona would battle and be wounded by Elspeth Tirel, before being saved and returned to New Phyrexia by Tezzeret.
Upon her return Elesh Norn commanded her to be given to Jin-Gitaxias to be healed and compleated. In her final compleated form her torso was attached to the lower half of a Phyrexian obliterator. She then returned to the battlefield to participate in the Phyrexian invasion of the multiverse. There is no official word on her ultimate fate, but it is assumed that she was killed or immobilized with the rest of the Phyrexians when Karn killed Elesh Norn.
