Malcolm, the resolute siren pirate, is a cunning and charismatic figure within the multiverse of Magic The Gathering. Born with a penchant for adventure and an uncanny knack for navigating the boundless skies, Malcolm Lee is renowned for his fearless exploits.
Alongside his best friend and goblin pirate Breeches, Malcolm sails aboard the pirate ship Belligerent on the seas of Ixalan. Malcolm’s understanding of navigation and his skill of dowsing earned him a respectable place among the daring rogues and buccaneers of the Brazen Coalition and the trust of a couple of powerful planeswalkers.

Malcolm was first inducted into the Belligerent’s crew by the gorgon planeswalker Vraska, who at the time took on the role of a pirate captain to conceal her identity. Together with the planeswalker Jace, they hunted for the golden city of Orazca and the legendary Immortal Sun.
Before the pirates could reach the city, they were attacked by the merfolk of Ixalan, known as the River Heralds. With the Belligerent in disarray, the crew continued on foot until they finally came upon the fabled city.
However, the pirates weren’t the only ones searching for the Immortal Sun. Malcolm and his crew discovered that the humans, vampires, and merfolk had also found the city and were in the process of fighting over the Immortal Sun. Using his siren voice, Malcolm sang to the brawling warriors, inevitably saving Huatli from being killed by Vona.
Before Malcolm or any of the other contenders could gain control of the Immortal Sun, it was spirited away by Tezzeret using the Planar Bridge, stealing the power from all the factions of Ixalan. With the Immortal Sun gone from Ixalan, Vraska and Jace were free to leave the plane, leaving the Belligerent to Malcolm and Breeches.
Malcolm quickly moved up the ranks in the Brazen Coalition, eventually becoming the official emissary of Downtown, a mining village. However, when news of strange disappearances in the town started popping up, Malcolm quickly went to investigate.
There, Malcolm discovered that the entire town had been deserted without a trace of the inhabitants. Upon further investigation into the town’s mines, Malcolm found that the miners had been attacked by the underground fungus creatures known as mycoids and had been transformed into undead creatures of the dark.
While escaping from the undead horrors of the deep, Malcolm discovered the king of the mycoids, known as the Mycotyrant. Malcolm and Breeches were able to evade the creatures using his siren’s voice, but the creatures followed the duo all the way to Ixalan’s core.
In the core, Malcolm discovered that a war was raging between the Vampires and the Oltec people. With the mycoids hot on their heels, Malcolm and Breeches quickly devised a powerful explosive, which Breeches skillfully placed in proximity to the Mycotyrant.
The explosion was enough to destroy the Mycotyrant, and with it, the hivemind of mycoids also crumbled to dust. With the danger gone and the path outward clear, Malcolm and Breeches left the core, never to return.
