D&D: Honor Among Thieves Review

Hello Fellow Dungeon Crawlers!

This week I will be expressing my honest opinion of the new movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor among Thieves.

There were many aspects of the movie that I loved. For someone who hasn’t played Dungeons and Dragons before, they could still follow along and enjoy the film. If you have played, so many aspects are brought into the movie that are recognizable, such as the Red Wizards of Thay, Neverwinter, Waterdeep, different classes of characters, the Harpers, etc.

They do a good job of pacing the movie. The story is based on an adventure that one could see playing a game of Dungeons and Dragons, and they did an excellent job of not leaving any loose strings throughout the movie. The only part that felt rushed was the fight scene at the end of the film. Overall, anyone can enjoy this movie.

I gave it 4/5 stars because the Bard in the movie should have had some powers. Typically in Dungeons and Dragons, the Bard class has their own spells to use and cast, but I still enjoyed the actor who played him.

Here are the things I LOVED in the movie:

  • Rege Jean-Page: his character Xenk was hilarious, and I mean, come on, it’s Rege Jean-Page.

  • The fat dragon in the Underworld: Genius.

  • Doric the Druid: I’m opinionated because I love playing druids, but wildshaping into an owl bear is EPIC!

  • I also loved the cool maze people had to get through in the Sun games.

  • The after-credit scene: that was pretty funny.

If you do get the opportunity to watch this movie, I highly recommend it!

I will see you all next week back here!

Happy Rolling!
